Even government offices will use WhatsApp instead of sms. It’s going to be incredibly difficult to get them to switch. So you saying “whoever uses this piece of shit software doesn’t care about privacy or anything else” shows your ignorance. Some people don’t really have a choice due to their situation.

Not to mention if they integrate it with these live facial recognition surveillance networks, something they caught you doing on camera without your knowledge could be used to make decisions.

Also remember that facial recognition has trouble with minority faces so if you get put on that list because some algorithm thought you were someone else you’re fucked.

Imagine buying a car that works great except every now and then when you want to turn left it goes right. No one would willingly buy that.
