I had my first fuck up with openSUSE+Gnome a couple of weeks ago when impatient me killed my laptop in the middle of like 1600-updates. BRTFS was the only reason I didn’t rip my hair out and the primary reason I will be switching my daily driver gaming rig to Linux, finally! That FS is the tits!

Switched to LibreWolf after seeing the message about Fakespot. It was a heavily used browser add-on I used almost religiously since 2020. Mozilla acquired them in 2023 and then did nothing with it, letting it die. I’m so tired of this bullshit.

The screen with my Lenovo Yoga 720 (I think) is a convertible touch screen. The brightness never stays consistent in Mint. It constantly changes brightness no matter what I’m doing with it. However, I’m not sure it worked right, even with Windows 10. Still a decent machine.

Doubt Tesla will fail in the next two minutes, so sure.

You and I are in similar boats, except I only gave Windows 11 a single install on my personal gaming rig before going back to 10. With the threat of 10 going EoL, I’ll be forced to move to Linux soon, myself. After working in PC and Windows troubleshooting for over 20-years all my foyers into Linux have been met with self-imposed damage resulting in an abandoment of Linux. This happened with spare computers or server setups since Windows Vista.

I’m nervous about the future of my gaming addiction, but will not use Windows 11.

Considering Israel is said to be using such generative AI tools to select targets in Gaza kind of already shows this happening. The fact so many companies are going balls-deep on AI, using it to replace human labor and find patterns to target special groups, is deeply concerning. I wouldn’t put it past the tRump administration to be using AI to select programs to nix, people to target with deportation, and write EOs.

Maybe the weird, extra human finger and appendage issues in AI images are a feature, not bugs. Maybe it’s a naturally occurring, unintended consequences of their learning and feedback process to sabotage the output they generate in order to make it obvious the image is fake.

My take: Conservatives fear liberal/progressive societal advances more than they fear fascism. It’s the same way the DNC fears progressives and would rather lose the game than give progressives a platform. Conservatives love big business and fascism is the result when capitalists fear societal regulation and conservativism seems threatened.
