Had a problem where my ports would suddenly close. At first I thought it was Telekom, then the modem, then the NAS.

After much investigation I discovered that restarting my router would solve it.

After some more weeks I discovered that the crawling bots were triggering some stateful tplink firewall that would close everything until rebooted.

So the router in the middle of the setup was the problem, not the edges.

I bought like 4x12tb disks for 150 euros each at the time. I’m already using like 27tb

To everyone criticizing the people who bought the device: It is sold as being capable of running without internet, and it often does. The problem is that some update along the way broke this functionality ( maybe on purpose ).

The device has 3 D batteries to survive even power outages.

I’m not defending the company, I absolute despise them, they lied to consumers and should suffer a class action lawsuit.

There are situations in which this device helps a lot:

• Portion control
• Preventing other cats from stealing food
• Keeping the kibbles dry with silica gel packs
• Automating food when the owner is away for some days

Hosting shit has become too expensive, and the ads will generate less and less revenue, as it’s mostly bots generating clicks and views. This is changing the internet at an incredible pace.

The worst is that any attempt to create a place free of bots will only become a target for LLM companies to gather clean training data.

How does it resolve conflicts? How does it keep track of causality?
