I suspect it now costs more to engineer and produce a window crank handle that will last the life of the car, than it does to stick a motor, switch, and couple wires in there. It’s also much more expensive to offer electric windows later then, because it will require a different window regulator, and now you’re producing and stock more part numbers.

Same height. Before they started selling those exit row seats for more money I used to ask the flight attendants to let me move if there was room available. It seemed to help if I stood up extra tall so that my head would be close to the roof, they hooked me up a few times (I didn’t fly that often back then anyway), especially on littler planes were I looked like a giant.

I have many sat in a normal seat in a while since my the person who books my flights is also tall and gets me the extra legroom seats automatically now. So I’m spoiled.

Really there should be safer seat spacing for tall people though, but I’m not holding my breath.

Yup I ran into this last week, looking for a wiring diagram of a relatively obscure part.

1st page of results on DDG and Google were both AI ‘blog’ style results of random diagrams unrelated to the part. All the same “loading…” text and I’m pretty sure all generated on the fly as I opened them.

It didn’t even give me the manufacturer’s site in the first 2 pages. And because I got upset and clicked through every result to vent to a co-worker, it decided to give me MORE slop results. I watched the useful info vanish from the results on reloads of the same search term.

Especially for energy use, the less exterior walls you have per unit, the more efficient it is to heat and cool.
