Like the Absolutism in Europe? 🤦♂️

We never talked about Avatar. War criminals only deserve one sentence.
But I guess the show was successful in relativizing war crimes to children and nurturing good citizens for the Empire.

What isn’t black and white, except neoliberal conformity? Surviving a war against the Evil Empire? B&W. Fighting against the lap dogs of the Evil Empire? B&W. Genocide enforcers and enablers are bad people? B&W. Starving a population that won’t give their land to resorts for the filthy rich? B&W.

Earth Kings, Queens, tons of Earth Kingdom names and places (like the Forbidden Palace) are clear references to ancient Chinese history
You’re going for the shallow likeness, I’m going for the essence. AND the creators are in a liberal environment with all of its prejudices and propaganda.
the whole theme of the franchise is that no one nation, no individual, no political system or movement, is really a pure good or bad
I’m not even saying the show runners are right in what they are trying to say, not that they even convey with competency what they were trying to - this right here is trashy post modernism (“people have their own truths” Yeah, like Nazis and Zionists)
What this makes clear is that you’re a liberal and I’m not. And nothing more.

Do you realize they elect their leaders, or representants, in China? Do you know a lick about the Chinese system? Liberalism is proto facism, every liberal government was licking Hitler’s boots in the 1930s, so the Fire Nation is what happens after the ultimate Liberalism, in which unchecked competition and social darwinism win. Do air nomads have slavery like they do in Tibet? And the Earth Kingdom is way more akin to the late Feudal/Early National Mercantilist European regions.
It was worth, because we had this conversation.

You’re welcome, liberal. Hm, do you realize who were the liberals among the 4 nations?

That’s not an individual problem, but you liberals only work in an individual and monetary logic. The Evil Empire’s propaganda is efficient.

The fairy tale of fork freedom, just like the fairy tale of market freedom.
Y’all are really pathetic.

"downvotes won’t change the reality, corpo boot lickers

Yup. Linux isn’t what it used to be anymore.

“In a year, the growth in our WSL numbers is significantly higher than the growth in Desktop usage numbers.”
“I expect to see more Ubuntu WSL users than ‘native’ Ubuntu users over the coming months.”
Of course, Canonical isn’t saying Windows now has more Linux users than Linux itself. Seager is comparing Ubuntu through WSL against Ubuntu installed natively on a Linux PC, and the WSL side is on track to win.

Imagine this headline: Microsoft buys Canonical! Their main devs will be transferred to the WSL division!
ChromeOS
🤦♂️ My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

It’s an ethos issue, from the greater things in general like changing its relationship with the community to the petty ones like shunning the partner with the most socialist views in the group.
But your question hiddens the more structural problem of what we want for FOSS. Can the company buy anything, even your soul?

It’s the kernel. For starters, Linux is a kernel. I don’t understand your point, the people running the Linux ecosystem (the corpos injecting money in the infrastructure and participating in the governance through the Linux Foundation) don’t care about user ownership. NVIDIA is a bad collaborator but it’s still allowed to do the shit they do. As other nonfree contributors on drivers.
But let’s suppose an open and universal implementation standard of ARM and modem drivers was enforced? We’d have hundreds of viable Linux phones already. The battle wouldn’t be pretty but the alternative would be the current shitty state of affairs.

I agree, I meant being Linux didn’t stop the enshittification of Andriod.

Yes that was very GNOME of them.

Do you want me being more direct? I’m asking whether you read the linked texts. I’m not making any judgement. I do have a judgement on the explanations given tho: too short. The ballot text is too vague.

Are you saying this after reading the rationale behind the options?
