Huh, didn’t know there was already a subscription option. Perhaps that is the first step

And you still can’t stop someone just playing it and recording the audio from outside of the VM.
I want to like GoG but their Linux support can be pretty awful at times. It took over a week for X4 to update the Linux version on GoG compared to steam that in the end I refunded it and bought on steam. Also proton is pretty nice to have.
I remember as kids we shared music by Bluetooth or copying files on a memory stick. You are not stopping that.
I don’t really watch TV much in the first place of my own choice. A few things my partner wants to watch but that’s about it. Music I get download with yt-dpl -x, I think that was it anyway as I set an alias for it
Tbh I thought they would have already gone subscription by now. When they announced win11 after saying 10 was the last I was very surprised it wasn’t either free or subscription based. Now I wonder if they will at some point release win12 with AI tools behind pro and make that subscription only.
I use Linux so I won’t be touching it but will see how it goes. Usually end up having to know at least a little about this as people ask me to fix their windows PCs
Linux as my only OS since 2010 here and poked it a little before that. Using Windows is annoying for me at this point
Most users won’t. Users that are happy to fiddle with registry settings might be a little more likely to though
Also isn’t lead acid heavy as fuck for the energy stored? The difference there is more noticeable on a bike.
Where are they putting it, chrome? Just use Firefox instead.
Personally only use Windows on my work laptop and even that I am questioning it, might start using my Linux VM for day to day work
And once you are using those you are probably better off using sqlite or even running a full SQL server.
It’s probably good if that is the sort of thing you are after, a laptop just isn’t something I want to spend real money on myself.
I setup my own with a bash script for backup years ago that uses rsync, feel too invested in that now to change
I doubt most people know what the difference with pop and imap is though. Generally they don’t need to know this sort of stuff.
End user doesn’t really need to know how it works. We talk about it more because most people here are tech nerds
There is a single feature I kinda wish it had, view message history. Doesn’t have to be permanent history, like last 30 minutes/messages would be fine. But using IRC on an intermittent connection isn’t great in my experience. Otherwise I would love to go back to IRC.
Can you have an instance that allows viewing other instances, but others can’t see in?
My partner keeps telling me to stop trying to install Linux on things… It will fix all the problems though! Like someone that only ever uses chrome they could just have an Ubuntu install and I am sure they will be able to manage using firefox.
