Snap has advantages though, apps works across different distros I think?
I think I can handle the ads part, but the ‘lighter’ part, thats a good one.
Are you saying Ubuntu isnt slow? The bloat only comes from the pre-installed apps, snap, and gnome desktop?

Arch was my first choice, but it forces you to keep up to date and use the latest cutting edge software, its like Windows. So I am researching Debian, Mint, and Fedora instead.

but what if I have a cheap laptop? Arch will force me to download the latest, and using xfce feels not enough.


MacOS is UNIX, Linux is UNIX, if I’m not mistaken.
