Hey, man, I’m right there with you. I’m not planning on buying a new car unless I’m 100% confident I can disable or remove all of its networking and spyware services. I’m just stating that it’s stupid that the average American will buy a new car and then say this shit about these cars just because they’re Chinese.
Honestly a Chinese car spying on you probably has less negative impact on your life vs any other brand that does business with American companies, of course assuming you yourself are american and live in America.

Why would I give a fucking shit? Every new car is a piece of shit spy ware device that collects and sells your data. Honestly, I’d rather china have my data than a fucking capitalist company or America. At least china won’t do anything to me, our government is more of a threat to the average American than china is.
ProtonVPN is no log and so is Mullvad I think. Basically it’s mostly reputation, some also pay for outside audits of their systems so they can more effectively boast.
No log vpns probably do cooperate with authorities, but the fact that they are no log means they don’t provide anything. They get a warrant for logs and identification, they comply and send a letter “we have no logs, or way to trace the identity of a user”.
Generally speaking, if you’re paying for a VPN, then you should be paying for a provider that is no log. Free VPNs, you get what you pay for, which is nothing. So you don’t really get any security with that.

The law absolutely does not apply to everybody, and you are well aware of that.
Just block his name, I have trump and Elon and varations of their names black listed so posts with them don’t show up on my feed.

I think there are a good number of people who are trying to deal with the problem, but a significant portion of the ruling class do not want to and have no plans to deal with the problem. So, dealing with the symptoms is the next best thing.
The only way we can deal with the problem is by unplugging all of these people in the ruling class and starting fresh. But that’s not something that is going to happen very easily or maybe at all sadly. Plus, we might just get a batch of fresh shitheads to rule the world.
I think he was only using it to work on the MacBook, Which, I really don’t think is his daily driver.

They’d come kill you for that.
Having to provide Id to any entity to access internet pages is dystopian and fucked up, sounds just like the UK.
Not that the USA is better at all

This man only cares about increasing Alphabet stock prices to ensure as large a golden parachute as possible on the way out.
This Is literally his legal obligation, welcome to capitalism
Waymo’s are safer than human drivers, prove me wrong.
It’ll be a great browser by 2029 IMO, and honestly that’s not that long compared to the development time all other browsers have had.
We shall see, I’m excited to start testing it out next year when it’s in Alpha

Amazon’s drone delivery is trash, you’re correct. But eventually it will be significantly better than humans, input gps location and the product will be at that exact location give or take 1 foot
Take a look at ziplines upcoming drome delivery service for instance, it will be significantly better than Amazon’s and will be way better than a human delivery driver.

^ no address, GPS is very very precise.

What you just described is humans causing the issue, drone delivery would absolutely solve your problem.

Amazon just rolled out their first production drone delivery SSD site in Phoenix. It’s sorta shit though.
Zipline is way more interesting and I can wait for them to go live in my area.

“JUST $10.28/YEAR - WOW!!” Laughed out loud at that, and I’ll have to give this a look. Currently I just use nginx and duckdns to expose my home IP for my self hosted stuff.
I disagree with main post and agree with edit. I’ve only seen abuse material on Lemmy once and it was on an instance that didn’t have an automated moderation tool for image uploads and they promptly added that mitigation step after it happened
